5 blog post ideas inspired by your business

When it comes to writing a regular blog for your business, many small businesses can struggle to consistently come up with ideas that are going to connect and engage with their ideal clients. Sharing blog posts about your business are a great way to share your knowledge and expertise with your audience and establish yourself as a topic authority in your field. They also help to show that you’re committed to your brand and looking to grow and improve. If you’re looking to write about your business in your next blog, here are five ideas to get your started …

What’s in the pipeline for your business?

Are you about to launch a new product or service? Do you have a specific goal or ambition for your brand that you’re working towards achieving? Write a blog post about it! People love to know what’s going on behind the scenes of your business so if you’ve got exciting plans on the horizon, it’s time to start shouting about them. Let people know what’s coming up for you and how that’s going to help your business grown and develop, how’s it going to benefit them as a customer? You can also use this as an opportunity to get readers to sign up to your newsletter in your call to action, to make sure they don’t miss out on all your latest news and updates.

Share a problem you’ve had in your business and how you solved it

Your initial reaction here might be to push back against this suggestion, we don’t always feel comfortable sharing our problems with the world, but sharing this kind of content is real, it’s authentic and it will really help to increase your credibility and build trust with your audience. People need to know that you’re human, just like the rest of us, every single business out there will run into problems at some point on their journey and showing what you learnt from this experience and how you overcame it is hugely valuable. This kind of blog post will help to show the human side of your business and help others relate to you. Authentic content really is going to be incredibly important this year, when there’s so much noise out there, so take a risk, be vulnerable and stand out from the crowd. Your audience will thank you for it.

The business achievement you’re most proud of

We’ve all got landmarks in our business journeys that stand out for us, that mean a lot, so why not share them? This shouldn’t be a braggy post (far from it!), it’s a chance to talk about why your business is so important to you and how much you value it. Think about the milestones you’ve reached in your business, why are they so important to you? What have they meant to you? You may have hit a sales target that you never dreamt was possible, you could have grown the business and taken on staff, been nominated for a business award or moved into your first premises. We have so many milestone moments in our business and we don’t talk about them enough. This is your opportunity to celebrate and share those wins!

Talk about the kind of customers you like to work with and why

Who’s your ideal client? Who does it really light you up to work with? Why do you like to work with these kinds of customers? What makes it so rewarding for you? We spend so much time in our businesses thinking about our ideal clients, researching which social platforms they’re hanging out on and yet we often never really spell it out to our audience who we want to work with. This is a great opportunity to include some case studies and testimonials in your blog post too (which will also help with know, like and trust). It’s also worth explaining who it is you don’t work with (which can feel a little uncomfortable) but if you’re a yoga coach who specialises in pregnancy yoga, it’s a good idea to share exactly that with your audience.

Share your brand values and business mission

What values are important to you in your business? What are the things that you absolutely won’t compromise on? Why are you so passionate about them? A post talking about your business values and mission really helps your audience to get a sense of who you are and what your business stands for. Now, more than ever, people want to work with ethical brands that stand for something and sharing your thoughts on this topic helps to take people right into the core of your business. Sharing this kind of authenticity with your audience really helps to get to know more about you and see the you behind the brand.
